You know, there should be a support group. Maybe even a 12-step program. That's right, my name is Craig and I am addicted to die-cast cars. It is a hopeless sickness and sometimes I can't help myself. Even an innocent journey to the local Wally World or Tarjet for TP and spray cheese ends up in the toy aisle. Every time, I feel almost compelled to buy one of these 10 dollar desk dust collectors to stare at.
I'm not the typical die-cast guy who picks up a plethora of Porsches or a multitude of exotics, I choose realistic cars that I would like to have (or have owned in the past). Just glancing over my right shoulder, here is what I see (in order): a 69 Roadrunner with a 1:87 scale Camaro on the hood, a 70 R/T Challenger in Plum Crazy purple, 69 Hemi Daytona, 68 GTO, 69 GT500, an all black Navigator on dub deuces with a 1/24 97 240sx on top of it and that is just my 1:18 collection at work. The list for the 1:24 goes from a friggin Pinto to a Back to the Future Delorian I built with a few Rat Rods thrown in for good measure. All in all, I've got 29 pieces of die-cast flair parked on my desk.
Thank goodness I am "holding back."
And if anybody in my family is reading this and wants to get me something awesome for Christmas, I'll take the 93 Cobra R in the picture from GMP Die Cast. I've never had a GMP car before, I'd like to mess with the "retractable seat belts" that the model pictured has.
