I always get a kick out of the unconventional, things that you know in the back of your mind that are just "not quite right." I also get a kick out of the Swedes and their insane level of vehicular tomfoolery. They just seem to really know how to take things to the next level. Thankfully for my tastes, that level is completely 180 degrees from making sense to most folks. What I have for you today is a shining example of Swedish engineering and fabrication: an all-wheel-drive Audi 80.
Hopefully, you looked at the picture before reading everything (hey, everybody likes pretty, pretty pictures, no?) and didn't stray away based on the fact I'm blogging about an Audi 80.
A brief rundown on why I think this Audi is bitchin':
- The paint job - come on, this is awesome. What little kid inside of us doesn't instantly grin when thinking about the good ol' General Lee.
- 750 hp - I don't care who you are or what you've got, 750 hp is darn good. It's even better when it is strapped into somthing that weighs about as much as a Radio Flyer wagon.
- It's set up for drag racing - yep, you read that one correctly. Drag. However, with some crap tires it does do the drift thing too...all 4 wheels spinning.
Anyway, I thought I would post a video I just found of the ol' General doing what it was built to do: drag racing. It's an interesting take and a different setup than we're used to over here but I think you'll like it. Watch the video here: General Lee Audi at the digs.
