A Day in the Yard: Craig goes dumpster diving for parts

I've been wanting to go to the junkyard for quite some time now.  Unfortunately, it always seems to get put off for something seemingly more important every time I get the chance.  Well, today, my girlfriend managed to pull me away from my slumber and get me motivated to go out to the junkyard.

She always seems to be a lot more motivated to go than I am.  I guess this is because I always prepare myself to be automatically let down, finding nothing but useless late-model cars and Japanese junk rusting away.  However, I always love going since I love just looking at old cars and wondering what their "story" is and how this became their final resting point.

Today was a pretty good day for old iron.  I came across a plethora of big blocks:  a wasted 4 barrel Caddy coupe, an awesome Olds 98 4 barrel big-block and an old 460 that resided in a big Linc.  Another pretty cool surprise was what was left of an ancient Jeep pick-up truck in the corner of the Dodge/Chrysler section.  Let's just say that I feel WAY better about my rust after looking at this thing.  Even one of my oddball favorites made an appearance in the form of a 74 Olds Omega 2 door.  It even had solid quarters and straight sheet metal everywhere.

Anyway, enjoy the pictures.
