It was once said that a turbo and a carb would never work well with one another. And then, there was the advent of the blow-through carb. It was said again that the combo was never meant to be. "Things will never be right," said they. Oh younglings, you have much to learn...
Enter my buddy and his turbocharged and carbureted Fox-bodied Mustang. It is a rather mild looking car on the outside (if you skip over the sewer pipe exhaust that sticks out before the front tire and the whistling) and at a glance could be any old warmed over Mustang that you might see out on the street. Running into this car, even in the mild state of tune that it has right now, would be a mistake if you're up for a challenge.
Here's the video so you know what I'm talking about. No comments on the music, I didn't make the video. ;)
A quote from the owner himself: "This was a low-boost, low timing, cold-cold plugs, pretty much safe everything hit because I am paranoid like that. Even though I had one of the best (if not the best in my book anyhow) engine builders around, I just want to break it in easy.
My car has a history of doing well on Valentines Day as strange as that sounds. And seeing it perform today was one h31I of a stress reliever."
Well sir, I'm still waiting on my ride now that you finally got the thing together after all of these years. She should be a beast and I won't give away any of your numbers. ;)
