Car Craft may have witnessed the beginning of a new Trans-Am series featuring factory-stock American pony cars during a recent trip to Road Atlanta. Ford Racing is building identically prepared Mustang GTs called FR500S to compete in The Mustang Challenge at seven road courses across the country. While watching these cars battle, we couldn't help imagining what it would be like to see the return of factory Pro Stock or Super Stock cars like Ford built in the '60s.
