There are, sadly, a couple of downsides to such a radical cut on the crank. There is an oil hole that runs on a diagnaul through the joural that feeds oil to the bearing. As the crank is cut, the oil hole moves toward the crank cheek. If it moves too far, the oil will escape through the breach and the engine will lose oil pressure to the bearing. We’ve heard that some cranks will have this problem, and some will not. We will find out if our crank grinder picked us a good crank.
