Swap meet weirdness

At a recent Pomona, California, swap meet, we ran across these bizarre square-tube headers. The first thing that came to mind was maybe these were headers for the Munsters TV show Drag-U-La that Grandpa built. The car was originally constructed by George Barris, but when I Googled it, the car had organ-pipe upswept headers. These square-tube headers join into a collector, which was really just a flat flange and continued into a set of square-tube side pipes. We didn't get the seller's name because we didn't want to act too interested.
