NASA Camaro

No, this is not about launching a Camaro to Mars. We're talking about the National Auto Sport Association (NASA). We tripped out to Willow Springs a few weeks back to learn more about NASA's new Time Trials class. While the majority of the classes are inhabited by imports, we spoke to one brave Camaro owner, Arthur Weber, who runs his ’91 Camaro in the TTB class. With a fast lap time of 1:35:22, he's very competitive against the top TTB class car, which at this event was an ’03 Dodge SRT4. Running this kind of lap time is equivalent to running low 12s or high 11s in the quarter-mile. What's impressive is Arthur's Camaro is fully street legal, it still has functioning A/C, and only runs a 350 H.O. motor with aluminum Fast Burn heads, a small cam, and a Tremec five-speed. Cool.
