Wiggins clamps

According to my buddies who keep track of stuff like this, Wiggins clamps are the coolest. Instead of clunky worm clamps adhering short pieces of rubber hose on aluminum tubing, the aeronautical industry created these Wiggins clamps that offer a much more secure connection between separate pieces of tubing. This clamp is actually a rather complex four-piece assembly. There are two ferrules that must be welded to each aluminum tube to be joined. Each ferrule also has a provision for an O-ring. Then the two ferrules are connected by an anodized aluminum clamp that tightens over a connector tube that seals the O-rings. This system is easily assembled and disassembled by hand, but they're not cheap. You can find them at Burns Stainless (burnsstainless.com/hardware). The price for one clamp assembly for a 1-inch tube is $134.84. You might be able to find these in an aircraft surplus shop, but they'll still be pricey.
