The reason Ashley Force’s car was covered with a cloak during most of Friday was to hide the new pink bodywork. The pink car was created as a celebration of Ashley’s Rookie of the Year title. She chose the color herself after being inspired by Shirley Muldowney and her racing efforts in the late 70s and early 80s. Ashley also said on NHRA.com that she liked the idea of guys getting beat by a girl in a pink car. So do we.
