Ford Panther Cars are Cool pt.3

YES! So, I took my own advice and bought one of these cars. Here’s my 2003 Crown Victoria P71 Police Interceptor. I bought it three weeks ago at an auction house close to our shop in Gardena: www.kenporterauctions.com

It’s a former Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s car with just over 130,000 miles, and I picked it up for $1500.00. Not a bad price considering these things sell for anywhere between $3,000 and $8,000 on eBay depending on condition. All it needs is a paint job- the engine, trans, and suspension are all in great condition. Over the next several weeks, I’ll document my progress as I repaint the car and fix a few minor things (e.g. driver’s seat adjustor doesn’t work, right rear window won’t roll down).

II think these cars have potential in our market as low-buck, alternative models- say for those who can't afford a '60's- era muscle car.  Mod motor build-up parts are available in the aftermarket, and these cars are a dime-a-dozen in the junkyards, so replacement parts are readily available and cheap. Anyone want to see a cop-car build? Do you think I'm nuts? Let me know!
