Since I bought the car, the horns and cruise control on my Vicky haven’t worked. Not a big deal, really, I don’t use cruise very much, and I try not to honk a people a lot. But the streets of Los Angeles are full of people who have NO business driving anything. You need to honk at these people: the snoozers at fleeting left-turn arrows, the cell-phone squabblers who carelessly drift into your lane, and the self-important sorts who stop inexplicably in the middle of the lane doing god-knows-what (usually something involving a cell phone).
So I finally get around to looking under the dash and see that the to both the horns and cruise control wires had been cut. I'm not sure why that would have happened. I know the regular sirens are controlled by a panel usually mounted in a console between the seats, but are those cool, squawky sounds the police and ambulance drivers use sometimes spliced into the horn button circuit?I haven’t been able to figure that out. No matter what, it’s good to have my horns and cruise control back.
