Excellent Engine Swap Idea

Here’s an idea we had that generated some controversy within the staff, so we’re asking for your opinion on the deal. I think swapping an LS-series engine such as an iron 6.0L into my ’64 Olds F-85 would be a cool little project, but it’s possible that the Oldsmobile faithful might think it blasphemous. My contention is that since the engine is basically a GM engine, and not specifically a Chevy, it might be something the Olds faithful could embrace. I ran across an early GTO at the OPG open house last year that was powered by a transplanted Gen III engine that had GTO engine covers and I thought an Olds version of that swap would be cool. The same idea could be applied to a Buick A-body as well. What do you think?
