I live my life an eighth-mile at a time, and for those ten seconds or less, I’m free.
Sorry, about that. We’ve just begun getting press releases about the new Fast and Furious movie set to be released in a couple of months, and because of that, I guess I had the original F&F on the brain the last time I was at the track with my Vicky. Hopefully Universal Studios won’t mind me taking a shot at one of their finer feature films. (And hopefully Doug won’t fire me for being able to recite lines from that movie by memory!)
Yes, my Crown Victoria is a 10-second car. I have nearly a dozen time slips to prove it too. Unfortunately, that’s a ten second eighth mile time, which I’ve described in previous blogs as equating to roughly a 15.6 quarter mile time. And the line in the movie was referring, of course, to a 10-second ¼ mile e.t. 4.5 seconds faster. That’s huge.
Still, I can’t dog my Vicky too badly- it’s a heavy car (3900 lbs) with a small engine (4.6L- 281 CID). I still love driving it and am really enjoying planning what to do with it to build more power and chip away at those e.t.’s
To the producers of the inevitable F&F 5: I'm no Vin Diesel, but I work for cheap. My time spent here proves it!
