In the beginning, it may have been a place for poseurs to hang out, but that’s changing now. Companies like Bare, Wilwood, Detroit Speed, Global West, QA1, Koni, and a host of others are building products that do way more than just look cool. We’ve also noticed a dramatic increase in participation in autocrossing as a way to evaluate these suspension changes and to show off just how good these cars are in actually laying down some decent performance numbers. The whole point of all this is to have a car that not only will accelerate and brake well but also turn corners and is capable of extended highway cruising. That was the original concept of Pro Touring that Mark Stielow and I put formulated back in the late ’90s. For the next few blogs, I thought it would be interesting to go over some handling basics with simple ideas on how to improve handling. So stayed tuned—that's what we’ll be discussing for the next couple of weeks.
