In my discussion with Jack Buckley, Autolite’s technical training manager and hard-core car crafter, he told me that Autolite staffs a technical hot line that allows a car guy to call them with any kind of performance-oriented spark plug tech question. The one I had concerned the correct spark plug application for a supercharged LS engine with aftermarket cylinder heads. The hotline guy not only gave me the correct Autolite racing spark plug number to use but also clued me in on a slick pdf file on the Autolite website in the catalog section. Look for a bar called “Other Applications” and then click on “Cylinder Heads” and it will list all the aftermarket cylinder heads for all the popular performance engines and which Autolite spark plug would be a good starting point. The best part about this is that you can access this information 24/7, so when you’re in the shop at 2 a.m. and need to know what spark plug will work on your TFS heads for a 302 Ford, you’ll have the right info. Is that cool or what?
