Analyzing Oil

I’ve been too long on this suspension stuff lately, so let’s shift gears a little.

I got a press release from the Amsoil people the other day about an oil analysis program the company now offers through Oil Analyzers. This company has three regionally located branches, one in Salt Lake City, one in Houston, and the third in Indianapolis, for all you Midwesterners. The budget approach costs a little less than $20.00. You send your sample to the analyzer and the results sheet will come back in the mail indicating if there are any danger areas such as coolant in the oil, traces of fuel dilution, or perhaps indications of excessive metal that could be coming from bearings. The analysis will also indicate if you can extend the engine oil drain intervals, which could save you money. They can also test coolant as well. Check it out at oaitesting.com.
