New Technology to Join Steel and Aluminum

Honda says it has developed a new technology that would join steel and aluminum—the joining of dissimilar materials allowed the automaker to use aluminum for an outer door panel. It means no more spot-welding, previously needed to connect conventional steel door panels. It can ultimately mean a weight reduction, too, as well as better fuel economy and improved stability by changing the dynamics of the point of gravity.

Do you feel this will have a huge impact on how cars are manufactured in the future?
